Languages and names
There are always potential problems with how your product/brand name will come across in foreign countries. The translation, or lack thereof, could be disasterous.
Examples from English to Spanish:
Chevrolet Nova – No Va – it doesn’t run(go)
Colgate – Colgate – to hang yourself
Big oops…
Not always intentional, my wife and I named our son Mykolas the Lithuanian name for Michael based on my grandfathers heritage. Easily mispronounced as Mi Kolas in Spanish meaning ‘my butts(tails)’.
